I've been using Vivaldi off and on for about a year now. It's OK but it doesn't seem to do much different from Opera. I've been using Opera since it was released, when it used to display ads which you could turn off by paying - which I did. Vivaldi seems to have all the featuring of Opera that I don't like (speed dial and annoying wallpapers amongst others) and doesn't seem to have any advantages. Since I've been using Opera for so long, and I have carefully carried my profile with me (it was created in version 8.1 and I have version 32 installed), most of the annoying features aren't there on my Opera. I did try my Opera profile with Vivaldi, but I couldn't get it to work.

 

Do try it for yourself, but it to me it doesn't seem to have any advantage over Chrome or Opera.

Vivaldi browser v1.8 released, with calendar-style browsing history

 

Many of us rely on our browsing history to find visited websites. Yet, in most browsers, history is quite limited in its approach. You’d get a long list of pages visited and you’d need to search and scroll through hundreds of lines to find what you’re looking for.

 

There is a reason for that – as a rule, browsers don’t really want you to use history. They want you to search and find things multiple times because search royalties are part of their business model.

 

We’re thinking differently and giving you an entirely new approach to history – a detailed overview backed by statistics and presented in a fresh, visual way.

I've played with Vivaldi, and Brave a bit, but end up sticking with Firefox and Chrome.

They sort of seem to be adding solutions to problems which don't exist, I don't think I've ever had the need to track through my history, but then ff is set to delete temp files etc on exit anyway, may as well just google, although I can't get out of the habit of bookmarking sites, since that used to be a sensible thing to do, when you didn't want to waste valuable time searching, especially on dial up
