[ms office - 2013] 'Word has detected a problem with the existing normal.dot...'

EDIT: The whole error message is:

Word has detected a problem with the existing Normal.dotm. Would you like to create a new Normal.dot?

 

I've seen this problem on individual standalone machines before and it's just a case of deleting the normal.dot and Word will create a new one - problem solved

 

However, a teacher has just reported that the whole of her class (15 students) have logged in today and had the error. I am happy to do 15 deletions if required but if this proves to be an issue that grows we have 1800 students in the whole school!!

 

A couple of staff members have reported this as well, it doesn't appear to discriminate based on location, user type or machine type. As I say - not a biggy at the moment just trying to get ahead of the curve if the problem becomes exponentially larger.

 

Has anyone else experienced this before?
