Hi everyone,

some of our users are starting to report a random problem when replying to an email in Google Mail. The message that appears is "Oops... a server error occurred and your email was not sent. (#76989) ". When looking on the Google forums there seems to be very little relating to this issue other than just clearing the cache. We have recently implemented a proxy for improved HTTPS inspection and I wondered if it was something to do with this. Has anybody else come across this error at all? Any help would be much appreciated.

We are experiencing the same thing. Did you ever get any answers?

We've just added Lightspeed's proxy and one of our test users is getting the 76989 error, using Google mail on her Chromebook. Unfortunately, this has been random, so we're not sure if this could be a Google server problem either---since there were Google Drive issues this week too.

Thanks! Dave

I THINK it was purely to do with Google and using the recently introduced proxy. I'm pretty sure we had to filter users going through google in a slightly different way in the lightspeed. I'm at a different school now so can't look. @IrritableTech could you throw any light on this one?

I'm really struggling to find this information I'm afraid. I'm not sure if we ended up finding a syntax error in our pac file or if it was an issue with secure or none secure attachments and google unable to locate them?

I'll keep scratching my head.

Thanks ... appreciate your help. We'll explore the PAC file. Hopefully you'll remember something, but I know how it is when things happened a year ago ... We seem to format over that stuff.
