Scam: "Shop For Free At Tesco"

I received the following E-Mail this evening:

This is a scam. The link provided points at:

 

Non-working link: http : // jvpaintingli . com / fod . htm

 

Chrome will warn you that there is malware ahead if you were to follow this link.

I had one of those e-mails yesterday and just deleted it.

 

My link goes to a compromised website based in the US (VirusTotal, Quttera):

@Arthur Looks like that website is hosted on a server provided by Ticoserver.com so could send a complaint to their abuse team.

@DaveP Your example looks like it's with Godaddy so if you email their abuse team usually the site will be taken down pretty quickly.

 

Thankfully the larger hosts usually do more about these compromised sites but some of the smaller hosts don't really care about it especially if it's an unmanaged service like a dedicated server.
