Single central records on SIMS

Hi all

 

How do store SCR on your SIMS, for visitors? are you using excel or any online provider? It is very time consuming to maintain the records.

What exactly are you recording each time someone visits??

You don't need to record visitors on the SCR. Regular volunteers should be there , but not one-off or occasional visitors

I thought you have to record all the visitors as well? I am not so sure now. The visitor's DBS certificate number and date.

Your visitors may not have DBS. DBS is only required for those working regularly, either in a paid or voluntary capacity, with the vulnerable be they young people or adults.

 

If a visitor is just that, a visitor, and will not be unaccompanied at any time on the premises, then you record their visit only in the visitors book for the purposes of the fire register.

 

The regulars, eg parents helping with swimming, governors, the LA speech therapist, will have DBS conducted by your school and/or their organisation and must go on the SCR
