Infrared Mouse

Hi,

 

We have a user here who uses there laptop with an usb infrared mouse. He has this problem where occasionally he uses the mouse and the pointer just goes to the side of the screen.

 

Have used 2 mice and he has the same problem. Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do to resolve it.

When you say 'infrared' do you actually mean optical or do you mean cordless?

 

If the mouse is corded, it sounds like it may be broken although dismantling it and giving it a good clean can work wonders. If it is a cordless one, there is a good chance it is failing batteries.

sorry it is corded. But this is happening for 2 mice and they work fine on my laptop.

This may sound silly, but check where they are using the mouse - the optical mouse in one of our classrooms goes really funny when used on the wooden desks but is fine on the formica-topped ones.

Is computer connected to a Smartboard?

 

If there a chair/desk/piece of blutack toucing the Smartboard?
