Andrew_C Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Loud? I was lucky enough to see the SL-3* launch. Only a Saturn 1b - the baby brother; but OMG!! We were miles from the pad, inside the base at a spectator viewing area, and the ground shook. My chest was vibrating... It was such a visceral thing; seems like yesterday, not 40 years ago. *Second crew going up too Skylab. SL-1 was the space station, shown at the right hand edge of the clip above.
