Microsoft Educational Discount for Staff & Students

Hey Guys,

 

Hoping one of you may know if there is a way we can sign up to Microsoft as a school so that when students and staff go to the educational store via the Microsoft Store they get a discounted price? Some staff and students have been asking about this!?

Did you know that all staff and students can get Office for home computers for free via Office 365?

Yes I did but they're more interested in hardware 3 members of staff want to buy the new Microsoft Surface Pro when it comes out soon but noticed they could get it marginally cheaper through educational pricing, I have checked the terms and it does say staff are also eligible. We're not signed up with Office 365 either we went the Google route so we tend to use their cloud services.

That is not the case. Non of the Academies in our trust use the .sch.uk and they all get the free office.

If your account is registered already just change your occupation to student in the profile. That's when you are asked to provide docs

Still have the same problem by going to the website above When I go to the documentation part it asks for the following 'Acceptable documentation is dated student ID, current progress report, current dated class schedule, or acceptance letter to the school of higher education.' Where would a member of staff get these documents from bearing in mind they're not a student?

What do you mean? You scanned in an exam paper and your P60 and they let you use it?

No no, to get education discount on MS exams as a staff member I changed my occupation to student (to get the verification steps) and scanned in my p60 and sent as proof that I work in education. It took about a day but my profile is now set to Educational and discount automatically gets applied whenever I book an exam or browse the MS Store.
