[sims] Multiple Marksheets for 1 class?

Hi Folks

 

In our 6th form, where a student is taught by two teachers, we like to have to reports.

 

However this class is defined only once, say U6-Ma1, which is shared by two staff, say ABC and DEF.

 

When I create the template and assign this class to it - am I right in thinking both staff will access the same marksheet?

 

If this is the case - is there a way of having two separate marksheets - or will that involve duplicating classes in NOVA to accomodate it?

 

I think a workaround is doubling the aspects in these templates, say comment 1 and comment 2, but it's not ideal...

In theory, the teachers each get their own marksheet. however, the marksheets will both contain the same aspects and result sets, which means that the marks will both be written into the same place. It actually doesn't matter which class or marksheet is being used; if the aspect and result set are the same, then the marks for a particular student will go into the same place and will overwrite each other.

 

If you would like the teachers to be able to write separate comments for the same child, then they will really need separate aspects.

I would really hope that apart from comments the actual data collected would be identical anyway - a student only sits one exam at the end regardless of how many teachers have taught him.

 

Regardless of MIS used I've always insisted that if the teachers have different things to say that the collaborate on the written reports to get the points across.

I have one grade per teacher and the HOD assigns a third overall grade for internal tracking. You can use one aspect and three different result sets (example, Maths KS5 Grade with result sets AUT1, AUT2 and AUT3). Or in my case, the teachers use fine grades but the HOD doesn't, so I've had to spin off those grades into a separate aspect as well.
