Hi All,

We are currently seeing an issue in a few of our ICT suites in which the machines are hanging on the printer policy after the user has entered their login details. This normally wouldn't be an issue as sometimes policies can take a little time however this issue seems to causing the policy to hang indefinitely as I have left some machines for over 2 hours with no progress. Checking the event logs seems to show the following:

DCOM was unable to communicate with the computer CSR|WPPRINT01 using any of the configured protocols.

This repeats constantly in the event logs however we have not made any changes to our print server over the holidays so we are not quite sure what has caused this problem. Looking into the problem we couldn't find much in the way of similar issues on Google however one result was similar and suggested it was a driver issue relating to old and corrupt drivers. I have since cleared all drivers from some of the local machines however this doesn't seem to have resolved the issue at all so I'm a little stuck on what else to do here.

We don't really want to start changing the print server however there are no details in the event logs of the server so it seems to be happening client side in terms of the logging/error. If anyone has any suggestions on fixes for this please let me know as it's causing a lot of complaints from staff sat waiting for a lesson instead of asking us for help!
