Virtual Machine Manager 2012R2 - Installation question

I need to install VMM on a physical server - can I install VMM on a Domain Controller?

 

I know it is not really recommended but I am short on Physical servers.

Any reason you want to do it on a physical?

Creating new HyperV cluster and advised better if physical so can create cluster using VMM etc

Couldn't you just create a VM of VMM on standalone and join them? But unless it's changed you can install VMM on a DC as long as it's a DC before VMM installed etc. e..g not promoting VMM

We've got quite a few SCVMM 2012 R2 VM's running with no issues.

It is NOT RECOMMENDED to install VMM on a domain controller. Computers functioning as domain controllers should be reserved for domain administrative functions.
