mjits Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Hi Guys does anyone know how to remove SBS monitoring on SBS2011
davethetekkie Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 I looked into this back when I was working with SBS on a daily basis and every time I looked into it the bottom line seemed to be 'don't do it'. SBS is designed to be a well integrated collection of technologies and if you remove certain parts of it you can end up with a very grumpy SBS... What I have done previously is to install the SQL Management Studio and limit the amount of resource that WSUS and the monitoring (IIRC it uses SQL!?) can snaffle away. Sorry I can't be any more help than that but I haven't touched SBS in a little while now!
mjits Posted July 21, 2015 Author Posted July 21, 2015 oh great thanks for your help. just wondering could i just disable SQL Server SBSmonitoring instance?
davethetekkie Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 I can't see why not; you'll probably just find some errors turning up in your event logs once you've done it...
davethetekkie Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 It depends how much room you have for trying things like that out...
mjits Posted July 21, 2015 Author Posted July 21, 2015 no room at all really but it just using resources that are not needed
