Hyper-V VM black screen on boot

My Exchange Server VM has been running like a three-legged donkey to the point where it looked like it has frozen!

 

Managed to reboot the VM but instead of booting back to the OS - it shows a black screen (currently on 30 mins)

 

I have tried safe mode etc but no joy!

 

 

Any ideas??

 

Meanwhile - I thought Ok, i'll open DPM and restore the VHD...... DPM having a hissy fit about my weekly backups - so now I am currently restoring from the VHD from my monthly backup to another server.

35 mins - VM finally booted to OS screen! but still running like a three-legged donkey!

 

Cannot wait until I move to O365!
