ICT Network Manager

A vacancy has arisen for an ICT Systems and Network Manager to work at William Hulme's Grammar School, Manchester's most popular school and one of the most over-subscribed schools in the country.

 

Duties will include:

 

•Leading the technical strategic planning and vision of ICT and being responsible for the operational management and day to day development of ICT services that support learning and teaching and the business and administrative functions of the school.

•Being responsible for the creation, implementation and communication of the school's technical strategy and for managing the technical process for implementing the school's mobile learning strategy.

•Line management of ICT services staff and the effective deployment of ICT resources to support the curriculum and business needs of the school.

•Overseeing the support of the MIS and other administrative systems used within the school.

•Provide desktop and application support and document all systems and procedures.

•Develop relevant Health and Safety procedures and ensure that all ICT users follow appropriate practice.

•Design and implement network infrastructure to meet the school's requirements.

•Manage remote access to the school's intranet.

•Develop ICT financial management processes with reference to school and United Learning procedures.

•Advise senior staff and governors on current and future ICT issues and developments.

We are looking for someone with:

 

•A good education, A Level or equivalent with English and Maths, ideally a Degree, BTEC, HNC, HND with a recognised IT qualification.

•A minimum of 3 years' experience in supporting and administering a Microsoft network and experience in desktop user support of MS Windows and MS Office - ideally in an educational environment.

•Ideally possessing knowledge of SAN storage systems, Wifi networks, audio/visual systems, SIMS.

•Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills and customer service awareness

•An organised approach with natural authority with the ability to lead and work as part of a team as well as on own initiative

•Ability to respond in a prompt, prioritised and professional manner to Helpdesk requests.

•Ability to work flexibly to provide continuous excellent IT support

•Creativity, imagination and innovation and an interest in emerging technologies and their relevance in education.

•A commitment to professional development and willingness to attend training courses.
