Print jobs printed in random order on Sharp MX-M753U MFD

Hello.

 

Our Admin team are having a real problem with printing student reports to our Sharp MX-M753U MFD. They print fine, but not in the order they are sent. They are printed from Sims in alphabetical order grouped by Form, but they come out of that one printer in a seemingly random order which means the Admin team have to then manually sort them into the correct form groups, and it's driving them mad.

 

We use PaperCut MF to manage our MFD's and printers, but I've tried a few test runs on an HP Laserjet M551 and a Kyocera Taskalfa 3551ci and they print in the correct order so think it is something specific to the Sharp.

 

I've watched the print queue while this was happening. Initially paused while the jobs are spooled, then unpaused and watch as the jobs are sent to the printers. On the others printers the jobs go through in sequence as you'd expect, but on the Sharp as soon as the queue is unpaused, they all disappear and are printed at random.

 

We have to use the Sharp for these as it's the only MFD we have that's fitted with a folding unit.

 

Any ideas or pointers?

Do you have Papercut setup so that users have to select an account to print to? We had an issue similar to this and that was due to the was Papercut released the jobs after and account was selected. To get round this we just changed it so that the users jobs were automatically assigned to one account.

We do have PaperCut set up like that, I'll change it over and give it a try.
