Google Atari, do a barrel roll etc

I am struggling to filter the stupid google games/jokes etc they have built in such as "do a barrel roll" or the atari game. Has anyone managed to ban these yet?

What web filter do you use?

 

In Smoothwall it's fairly straightforward.

 

You add the search term to the search term filtering section.

Thanks - I was wondering though if there was a code-base that stopped them all working so I didn't have to ban each one when google comes up with their next silly idea

Not really. We try to keep up but we're not prescient!

The pacman style ones live under google.com/doodles, so you could block that but then you'll end up with a broken looking google most of the time, as that's where they put the non-gamey ones too.

If you are with Smoothwall we've got then under Online Games, so just block that.

Thanks - I'm using a Palo Alto and have online games blocked but they're not blocking that one - I'll keep adding them to the list
