FN-GM Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Hello, Doesn't Edugeek usually have a meeting at Easter time? Just wondering what happened this year? Thanks
Dos_Box Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 I'm just about to pop out, but will post some info when I get back. We have pencilled in a conf, but due to several factors we are planning to hold it later in the year. More to follow when I get back. 1
FN-GM Posted April 11, 2015 Author Posted April 11, 2015 Thanks, It works really well for me being later anyway. Easter is always very busy, especially this one. Look forward to another gathering.
Gatt Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Used up all my leave so wont be able to make it again
sonofsanta Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 If you mean the EDIT conference, it's moving from May to October, as per the Queen's @Dos_Box's Christmas Message
Dos_Box Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 @sonofsanta that's the one. We are still in the preliminary planning stage and would like to get the migration to the new site done before we do any firm planning or booking of venues. The reason we have moved it is simple. In the first few months of the year there are several large educational IT shows, and as has already been pointed out, lots of members have either used up leave or have started projects with their new budgets, planning for exams or have difficulty travelling all the way to Preston. This is why we have planned to shift it to October to a location which will be much easier for many to get to i.e. Manchester as well as possibly expanding the event to 2 days to allow much more in the way of hands-on sessions for example wireless network setup and management, which would take much more than the 45 minuite session we could normally allow. We're quite excited about it tbh, but we do need to get the site move done first. Once complete we shall be asking you for some ideas and feedback then we'll get the ball rolling
