Anyone here played it?

I watched a gameplay video and it looks interesting but I don't have a PS3 so I've never played it. [Didn't realise it was a PS2 game...]

Le EDIT: There's also the fact P3:FES is >£65 on Amazon.

>£65 for a 5 year old PS2 game.

I've played some MegaTen games - and to be honest, I'm not surprised at the £65 tag. They do have a habit of getting a bit of a cult following.

They certainly are... different.

I've only experience of the Digital Devil Saga and the Devil Summoner lines though.

Get a Vita, and then get yourself Persona 3: FES and Person 4: Golden, the latter I would rate as one of the best JRPGs I've ever played. It does need to be Persona 4 Golden though, as they add in a whole bunch of extra stuff over and above the Playstation 2 version.

Otherwise you could try Devil Survivor on the DS or the 3DS version, it's a similar universe, but very different gameplay.

Buy a £150 console for literally 2 games.

I'm not made of money... I ain't Sunnyknight. :p

Well, there's also:

Suikoden 1 and 2 - JRPG PSX classics

The Atelier series (remade for the Vita)

LittleBigPlanet

Tearaway

Danganronpa 1 and 2 - A very weird Japanese game with Phoenix Wright like gameplay mechanics, ish.

And various others, heard the Uncharted game is good to, but I've only played the PS3 versions.

But I did buy the Vita purely for Persona 4 Golden, the other games were bonuses!

Played one of the Digital Devil Saga games.. Was thoroughly impressed with it. Did mean to pick up the others (and the Persona series they're apparently closely linked with) but never got round to it.

Suikoden 2

Literally one of the best games I have ever played - I shouted full on at the game when was killed by the White Knight dude's archers.

Just had to get all 108 stars of destiny after...

The story for the Digital Devil Saga loops round on itself so well - superb writing there.

So... I "acquired" P3P and have been playing through that a bit.

I'm not sure what I should be doing, TBH... I joined S.E.E.S but have spent all my time making friends instead of clearing Tartarus.

Generally I would clear Tartarus in one night at the start (there are natural 'breaks' to stop you doing the entire shebang) then spend the rest of the time exploring and building up social links and your skills (determination, bravery, intelligence and the other one). You're then prepared for whatever is thrown at you, but the game gives you fair warning as to when to expect something to happen, so you can't go too wrong with it.

I restarted to try clearing Tartarus in 1 night, got to floor 10 and kept dying to the Dancing Hands. :(

Managed to do it in the end.

I think I'm just going to play and not focus on any specific S.Links for now. It'll be easier on new game plus.

Downloaded this for the PS3 last night, question is whether I'm going to be able to get hold of the TV from the girlfriend long enough to complete it!

The time limit in P4G is annoying... Everytime I plan to do something, there's something else to do.

Or I get railroaded.

">You decide to..." No, no I didn't.

And I have no clue how to increase social qualities. And I have no money...

So tempted to scrap the ~10 hours I have and start again.

I might have obtained a PS2 slim over the weekend and ordered myself SMT: DDS 1 and 2 over the weekend. I did look at the prices of Persona. WAT?!

Also the prices for the .hack// I/M/O/Q series seem to have skyrocketed.. I got all 4 for £30 a few years back. Now a 4-set is selling for £120 D:

Yes, I had the full set from release, and apparently now Outbreak is very rare, with Quarantine also carrying a fair amount of rarity.

Rare games are worth loads.

I have original copies of Star Ocean: The Second Story and Grandia which are both worth quite a bit to the right person.

Grandia <3

I sold Suikoden 1 and 2 for my PS1 a few years ago, £150 for the set. always nice to have a few rare ones kicking around.

Best to remember that there is no wrong way to play Persona 4, though there are certain things that you need to do to unlock the absolute best ending which I won't go into as they can be laden with spoilers.

Best bet is to complete the dungeon as soon as possible to get it out the way (and look out for golden hands for the money and exp). Clubs and homework are the ways to increase your social skills (and if you can study with someone, that helps with social links too. The best way to get social skills is to eat the mega bowl challenge from the restaurant in town on a rainy day. Bare in mind it takes AGES to level those up, but you keep any skills you earn in New Game+

Might be worth persevering to the end and getting any ending, then replaying with New Game+, find out the criteria to get the "true" ending, and replaying it from there, though that is one hell of a time commitment!

I'm slowly running out of time, with no way of finishing Kanji's dungeon because I take way too much damage on floor 3+. I can't grind for levels because I have no SP and I can't replenish it as I've got no items/money.

(and look out for golden hands for the money and exp).

Tried that. They just run away because I can't kill them fast enough.

They take next to no damage from all of my attacks and hit for about 1/5 of my health...

I actually ended up in the same kinda bind, had to restart in Kanji's dungeon for the same reason. Stopped sprinting and just started level grinding away I'd spend a day getting to the end of the dungeon, leave, go back in the next day, end of dungeon again, leave, clear dungeon day 3.

Worked pretty well, ended up OP by the end of it.

Oh, and aim for the best ending at some point, adds anywhere between 8-20 hours.
