MarcAlle Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 So, I have windows updates configured and I'm wondering if it is possible to change it to function like this: Desired Setup: Updates from Intranet Location, once updates are approved they auto install at NOON each day. HOWEVER, if a user would like to install updates earlier, they may do so by clicking the install button early. Is this possible to do?
tigerstar Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Yep. All settings in Computer Config > Policies > Adm. Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update Configure Automatic Updates - Enabled, and in options choose 4 (Auto download and schedule), and set the scheduled install day to 0 (every day), and the time as desired. Specify intranet Microsoft update service location - Enabled, set to the location of your WSUS server, obviously. Allow non-administrators to receive update notifications - Enabled. I also like to enable "No auto-restart with logged on users for scheduled automatic updates", as that avoids the forced auto-restart dialogue that can be inconvenient for the users, and "Allow Automatic Updates immediate installation", as that automatically installs any updates that don't require a restart immediately.
MarcAlle Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 Thanks for that, however that is already what is setup. On my windows clients, I get these 2 pages. I've double and triple checked to ensure that is the only GPO that has Windows Updates.
