PHP on a stick

Any of you guys use 'php on a stick' for students?

 

Teacher just asked me if he could have it for students. Spent ages setting up a internal webserver with MySQL and PHP but wont go there.......

 

Seems neat idea, just don't want the little darlings bringing in nasty scripts to plug directly into my network.

 

Any thoughts ?

Seeing most those kind of portable programs need exe/services to run even temporarily means opening a lot of bad things when we were looking so said nope

 

Did SQL server and PHP as you said.

I would get one in to test as it looks like it has its own sandbox for actually running the students work, test it and then if it don't work as expected write out the report stating why and move on to an online programming tool, plenty of them around now,
