HUgradar Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Hi I am getting the following error when attempting to image a HP 400 G2 PC using WDS WdsClient: An error occurred while obtaining an IP address from the DHCP server. Please check to ensure there is an operational DHCP Server on this network segment. I have the following setup Windows Server 2012 with WDS role installed (WDS-01) 2 X Windows Server 2008 with DHCP (DHCP-01 and DHCP-02) Both DHCP Servers have option 66 and 67 set 66 - WDS-01 67 - boot\x86\wdsnbp.com I created my Windows 7 machine and did a sysprep, then captured it using WDS - i did have issues capturing this image, as it turns out that WDS on Server 2012 does not easily capture OVS versions of OS's, so you have to mount and unmount the capture image using Dism before capture works. I tested the new image to a virtual machine and it imaged it with no issues. I attempted to image a HP PD 400G2 with it and got an error, saying there was no Network Drivers. So i downloaded the drivers and added them to the image from the WDS console. I ran the Image again, and i now get the above error. Can some one assist urgently please, i have a big project next week, which requires many machines ot be built and it would mbe much easier using WDS - - - Updated - - - Just to add - The image machine i setup was Virtual When i try to deploy the image to a virtual machine it works fine. Am only getting the above error when deploying to a Physical PC If I do Shift and F10 when the error appears, i get a Command prompt. If i do ipconfig i just get back Windows IP Configuration Nothing else i am unable to ping anything on the network I also enabled client logging and opened setuperr.log on the client, i am seeing this error: 2015-02-15 17:51:54, Error [0x0b003e] WDS QueryAdapterStatus: no adapters found.[gle=0x000000cb] 2015-02-15 17:51:54, Error [0x0b003f] WDS StartNetworking: Failed to start networking. Please check to ensure that there is an operational DHCP server on this network segment.] i tried to Capture a Physical HP machine now, i get to the Image Capture Location I select the local location, type the server Name/IP and click connect. I then get the following error: "The network location cannot be reached. For information about network troubleshooting, se Windows Help". This seems like a HP Issue to me, as the hardware i am using is HPI have enabled Port Fast on my Cisco SwitchesP.S i tried a Lenovo Laptop with the first image, and it works. It is imaging the machine now This seems like an issue with the HP machines.
Duke5A Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 If the drivers were added to the boot WIM and not just the console it should work. Do you have a functioning Windows install on one of these machines? Get the device and vendor IDs of the NIC in question, open the driver INF and see if they're in there.
