Quackers Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Anybody had a play with it yet? Looks great and a lot easier to use than Photoshop. https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/photo/ Free beta available to download, plus the demo video shows off what it can do.
Arreks Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Ohh this looks quite intere- wait mac only? F dat!
Arthur Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 (edited) I bought the Designer app for my Mac at home when it was released. If Photo is anything like that, it will be really good. Edited February 9, 2015 by Arthur
Garacesh Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Ohh this looks quite intere- wait mac only? F dat! Well aren't the Serif X* packages Windows only? (MoviePlus, DrawPlus, PhotoPlus, etc)
Arreks Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Well aren't the Serif X* packages Windows only? (MoviePlus, DrawPlus, PhotoPlus, etc) I wouldn't know as I don't use a Mac I just saw a thread with some new software in it.
Garacesh Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Serif sent me a free copy of their X6 and X7 software for home use (even when I outright told them I didn't have purchasing power) but I don't recall if they said it worked on Macs or not. Looking at the video, it doesn't really look that different from Photoshop at a glance, but I don't do much digital art these days, and I haven't really used photoshop before except to resize a few pictures.. So it's quite literally it looks similar, I don't see much outstanding. There'll be better people than me that can tell you otherwise, I guess. (And sales people that will tell you it'll change your life, make you meet your soulmate and win the lottery three times over)
