TIOAOA Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Ok Not the best title but it's been a long day. Here is my query - Whats the best way to use Google document sharing to share policies with our staff and have them sign the document electronically. Anyone have anything similar in place or suggest to me a best practice option. Thanks in advance
NotSoFast Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Given that there will be a change log which will prove which user typed what, could you not just ask them to initial at the bottom or type 'Read and accepted' next to their name in a list at the bottom?
TIOAOA Posted January 16, 2015 Author Posted January 16, 2015 I initally thought the same thing @NotSoFast but due to revision pruning I'm concerned I'd lose some information.
NotSoFast Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 (edited) My understanding is that revision pruning preserves all the edits but combines them into fewer revisions, but I'm not 100% - you could test or ring Google support. Another possibility would be to write a little bit of Google Apps Script to add users who make changes to the document to a list either in that doc or elsewhere. Alternatively, why not use a form to collect confirmations? Edited January 17, 2015 by NotSoFast Added image
