Synology DiskStation DS215 - Swapping hardware array from Buffalo device to Synology

Anyone got a Synology DiskStation DS215j?

I need to know if I have 2x 5TB drives in a Buffalo hardware RAID enclosure (to the point where if I disconnect either driver and plug it into another PC it reads as normal - so the RAID config is on chip) can I pull one out, put it into the Synology NAS tell it to build a RAID 0 array. Format the second drive in the set, insert it, will the NAS then copy the data between discs?

Or do I need to back everything up onto multiple 1TB 2.5" drives and start again from stratch?

No. When you insert a new* HDD, the Synology NAS will want to format it.

* New to the NAS that is.
