ass17 Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Hi, I can receive a Wol packet to a PC. So I know the network is ok. If I send a WOL to a PC within 10 seconds of it being shutdown, it turns on, but if I WOL any longer after that it won't turn on? Any ideas? I have the latest drivers etc, does anyone else have/had the same issue with HP machines?
DMcCoy Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Windows 8.1? 8/8.1 does not support WOL from shutdown, although you can get it to work on some machines by disabling fast boot. I've also seen wake from shutdown removed from some NIC drivers (marvell) however on my home machine I got it working with a Win 7 driver.
ataylor Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Hmm, I have a room full of Acer Veriton Z2610G's that I can't get to work on WOL - I've not tried disabling fast boot though!
