techy32 Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 We had problems with Discover and uninstalled it from the server. Now we would like to know as how to install it on the SIMS server with Solus 3.8? Any help would be much appreciated. Any guide? Thank you
Cache Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 I've never done a server install with solus3, I'd suggest a better way of doing it would be to download the Discover ISO from SupportNet and install/configure it using that and then add in the configuration details to Solus3 so that it can then manage the updates for it.
techy32 Posted January 9, 2015 Author Posted January 9, 2015 This is what I was thinking. Thank you anyway
Ghostgame Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 You configure the settings for Discover in SOLUS3. Once done, you then deploy the latest Discover upgrade. That should install Discover on the server for you.
techy32 Posted January 9, 2015 Author Posted January 9, 2015 HI Ghostgame, I am quite new to discover installation on the server. What settings are required? Thanks
Ghostgame Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 In SOLUS3 --> Enviroment --> Targets is where you define all the settings for SIMS, FMS and Discover. The database tab is where you define the server and sql instance the database is on, the database name for discover and then the authentication used for SOLUS3 to access Discover. The services tab is where you define server, install path, time when Discover refreshes its database with SIMS data and the account types. Clients tab is where you define which SOLUS3 agents have a discover client (just make sure to include the server even if Discover is not going to be used).
