I hear google maps are releasing something exciting soon as well on this front.

I assume these are generated on the fly somehow. I dragged the map to where I live (an average street in an average part of the Black Country) and while not 100% accurate, my house is there. When I look at the college where I work, only two of the buildings are shown. Still the pub on the corner is there
