buzzard Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Hi I'm just looking at setting up a new switch and I'm having a slight issue, after the initial setup on the console and plugging in a cable to a port on the default lan I cannot connect to it. If I connect a cable to the management port on the switch it picks up an IP from DHCP and I can access the web front end. If I connect via terminal remotely or locally and set the Management port on a static IP it cannot be pinged or contacted. Now I've nbot setup one of these before and haven't used a switch with a dedicated out-of-band management port, am I missing something obvious. I have read that you cant have a management VLAN if you use the OOBM port. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
ZeroNeg Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Had a problem with a hp switch before. We had proxy settings in internet explorer and that was stopping getting past the logon page on the switch. Removed the proxy settings and got in straight away. Might be worth a look.
