soveryapt Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Afternoon All Just looking at the state of drives at one clients and they have less than 100GB free on the main drive with all the shares etc. Currently, all the software installers are also located on this drive too, so I was thinking of moving them to a different drive that has plenty of room (our Archive Drive) as theres at least 1TB free on there at the moment. My question is, obviously I can unshare > copy (or move) files > reshare for the \software$ folder, but, if I do this, will that upset everything within GPO for deployment of software? The drive shares are all done with \\the.domain\ style shares so it's \\the.domain\software$ and it will still be \\the.domain\software$ when I've moved it, but I wasn't sure if somewhere deep behind the scenes Windows goes "ah, that is here" and if I move it Windows will go "ARGH .. what have you done, it was there, IT WAS THERE" and have an all out hissy fit or will it be all "yeah, that's cool bro" and just keep doing what it's doing? Thanks all Andy
