ranvidtay Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 I can connect to the internet via ethernet cable but cannot PXE boot. Using SCCM to load images. No connection or activity lights show, ever. Don't know if this is hardware or software issue or both. Please help.
SteveM555 Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Have you double checked to make sure PXE booting is enabled in the BIOS?
ranvidtay Posted October 16, 2014 Author Posted October 16, 2014 Yes, all BIOS settings are good for PXE boot.
andydis Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 lets look at method of elimination :- try a different pc to PXE boot with? does the port on the switch require 802.1x ? is it in the correct VLAN? is the NIC enabled with PXE in bios?
cooka Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Are you pressing the correct button at boot, to boot from nic? Can you get to a boot menu to enable you to select the nic?
tmcd35 Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Is SCCM advertising a boot image to this machine? Have you tested on another machine of the same make/model and different make/model? If the machine is in the right collection in SCCM and that collection is advertising a valid boot image, have you double checked that machines MAC address registered in SCCM? Also what GUID is PXE boot reporting from BIOS? Is it unique?
