edutech4schools Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 (edited) I wanted to run a disaster test restore on a few backed up folders and files just to see if they would restore to a totally different server. Both servers are 2008r2 but after I select the restore disk (USB) I get the following error after 10mins. The open instance of Recovery Wizard was inactive for more than ten minutes. The wizard was automatically cancelled to allow other backup or recovery tasks to proceed. Luckily this is only a test restore and we do have an offsite backup with another company that uses their own software, but I really need to be able to fix this issue asap. EDIT - This is using Windows Backup Software Edited October 7, 2014 by edutech4schools
edutech4schools Posted October 7, 2014 Author Posted October 7, 2014 I have just tested a restore using the server that did the backup and that works fine. So the issue is using the backup on another server.
edutech4schools Posted October 7, 2014 Author Posted October 7, 2014 Panic over. I was able to mount the vhd file in Windows 8.1 and restore the files. YAY.
