Hi all,

I am having quite a weird issue using Server 2008 R2.

The server loads up fine, and works fine for an end user. The issue comes when you need to do any administration on the server itself. So far, I have noted the following symptoms:

  • The network adapter shows as inactive in the bottom right-hand corner, although you can actually access stuff as a client
  • When you go to network adapters, it never loads
  • In server manager, the information for the server never loads
  • When you go to mmc's, they never load
  • Adding / Removing Programs, you click uninstall and it just sits there an never uninstalls.
  • Using an mmc on a 2003 Server you can get to services, but you can't stop / restart any services
  • Trying to access Windows Server Backup from another 2008 R2 server, it tries to load the server but just sits there with 'please wait...'

I have checked over hardware etc. and there is no issues on Hard Drives, memory etc.

Has anyone come across this before, or even better, a solution to this issue!

Thanks for any help in advanced!
