Editing documents directly from windows share

Hi,

 

We have Android tablets in our school (sorry if this is in the wrong section btw) and we are wanting to open and edit and save documents back to the original place on a windows shared location. We are using ES File Explorer to access the shared location but, it seems to download a local of the document we want to open to Temp on the device and then when it comes to saving it wants to save it onto the device in the Temp folder and not back onto the shared location, is there any way to directly edit documents from a windows share on Android?
