Dos_Box Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 I saw this in a little cafe near Flamborough Head in Yorkshire a few weeks back: An orginal Space Invaders cab (serial number 5497) but sadly not working. It even had the cigarette burns where people would rest them against the buttons! I should have made them an offer as it was in pretty good condition everything considerdered! 1
LosOjos Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 I'd be tempted to go back and see if they'll sell it to you! Might be easy to fix if you know someone who's handy with electronics, alternatively you could shove an R-Pi in there with MAME running if you do it, do keep the innards though, just in case!
gmj Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Nice! Believe that original cabinets are worth quite a bit.
Dos_Box Posted September 16, 2014 Author Posted September 16, 2014 (edited) Nice! Believe that original cabinets are worth quite a bit. Ebay has a guide here: Original Space Invaders Arcade Machines | eBay whaich points out that cabs in very good condition are few and far between fetch the best prices. This one looked like it had been in an arcade for a LONG time. The orginal parts are cheap to get though Edited September 16, 2014 by Dos_Box
