TechSupp Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 When I left my last post I was given a £40 Amazon gift voucher and was thinking of entering the world of the Raspberry Pi. Looked on Amazon and there are a few kits with case etc. Can anyone suggest a kit? Have already got a USB WIFI, looking for the newer B + model and not really wanting to spend more than the £40 well not much more. Just not sure which kit would be the best to get.
pcstru Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Do you already have any of : keyboard, Mouse, USB charger (Micro USB), HDMI lead, Micro SD? What do you intend to use it for? Will you want to plug in an external USB HD? 1
TechSupp Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 Thanks, well I have no mem card suitable, charger or hdmi lead (no hdmi on any of my monitors so that may be an issue?) Externnal HD is a possibility. What will I use ut for....anything and everything, not used one before but will be linking it via Scratch to run a floor robot (got to learn so I can use it with the kids in school).
pcstru Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 You can get an HDMI-DVI cable which should be OK (+ adaptor for VGA if you need one). I'd just buy the bits you need separately (mem card/hdmi dvi cable/usb charger) - I don't immediately see any kits which have the DVI cable option. If you want to run an external HD you will probably need a decent powered USB hub (assuming you are running a wireless card as you mention). 1
