Strange Issue with internet explorer not downloading filename extensions

Morning all,

 

we have a strange issue with internet explorer when it comes to downloading files, weather it be PDF DOCX ZIP or anything really, IE wants to download it without its filename extension, for example if i go to any website internal or external it and try to download a file called document.docx it'll try download it as document_docx

 

Obviously then the machine cannot read it due to it having no filename extension. I removed Smoothwall out of the picture and tried via a backup ADSL line and the problem still exists, also used a different browser and it works perfectly every time.

 

Has anyone had any experience with this issue
