Workgroup Manager 10.9

Hello people,

I have recently built a new image for our college on 10.9. Previously we were on 10.8, I had to update the server to mavericks to back up the image and I have also updated workgroup manager but since the image has been on I cant add members to a workgroup. Whenever I try to add members it just doesnt populate the box and they aren't being added to the group. Am I missing something here?
