Waiting for User Profile Service Stuck for one User

Hey Guys

 

I have a teacher's account and tried to log her onto a new laptop although it just gets stuck at 'Waiting for user profile service' all other users can logon fine, she does have a background wallpaper and sticky notes etc.... so I'm guessing her profile will take longer to load than most although it just won't do anything.

 

I have checked the computer can ping to the DNS server and the DC and all is perfectly fine, the computer she's trying to logon to is wireless though it will log her onto another computer in the school using Ethernet.

 

A little bit confused any suggestions?

Is the user using Roaming Profiles? Worth checking the size of that out. Could be GPs applying to a laptop that aren't to PC

Hey Buddy, when I check the size of the Profile folder .V2 it just says 0bytes as does everyone else's ....

Hmm, that sounds like a permissions problem on the folder for you as a user. Go into the folder, and you will probably get the warning/error. Confirm the "allow access" and then check the size again.

It sounds a bit like you haven't set this GPO...
