Salterini Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Hello All I am trying to delete a number of User Defined Groups in SIMS that have been created in error or are no longer needed and am coming up against an error message. I have removed all memberships from the Groups, removed the Supervisor name and changed the status to Inactive however when I click Delete in the main UDG screen I am getting a pop up saying "This group cannot be deleted as it is being used by other applications! Do you want to change the status to Inactive?". I cannot see what other application could be using the group as it has no members (I have deleted all historic memberships too). I have full system access as I am the system manager. Can anyone offer any assistance at all? Many thanks.
Spizzy01 Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Are you sure the group is not in use in SIMS Discover?
Salterini Posted August 27, 2014 Author Posted August 27, 2014 No, definitely not in use in Discover.
Spizzy01 Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Then there may be other areas where it's being used, for example, Assessment Marksheets/Reports. I had a similar issue in the past, and about a year after it let me delete it. I simply marked it as 'inactive' until then. Make sure there's no 'history' where the group has been used/has data set. If you change the 'Academic Year' within the User Defined Group do any additional members set in the past show up? I personally don't deal with UDG's too much so I'm afraid there's not much more I can suggest aside from contacting your support group for a point in the right direction. 1
Salterini Posted August 27, 2014 Author Posted August 27, 2014 Ah! I had it attached to an Assessment Marksheet. I have managed to delete it now. Thank so much for your guidance it is much appreciated.
