We have just moved to a new domain, with a new e-mail address and associated new exchange server. We now want to receive any mail sent to the old e-mail addresses on the new system. I have already added the old e-mail addresses for everyone as aliases. In my head what I now need to do is:

1. Drop the old exchange box (exchange 2007) off the old domain and add it to the new one (Exchange 2013).

2. Turn off the edgesync Send connectors

3. Set up the connectors so that the old box acts as an internal e-mail relay

Am I right? Any pointers?

You can't just move an Exchange servers between Active Directory domains like that. Its so heavily tied into AD.

Why not just point the MX records for your old public domain to your new Exchange server and then dump the old exchange.

You are very welcome. I have done similar, some of our users have an old domain as an alias and have no issues about certificates etc.
