Hide Control Panel / User Folder Through GPO

Hello,

I am trying to push out a group policy to a set of users that hides the user folder as well as the control panel that is populating even though I have the desktop redirected to a folder located on a share. Classic Start Menu is not enabled. I have searched the internet and many places suggest editing the registry, I have updated the registry through the gpm tool, on the user and computer configs, both local user and local machine registries. Any suggestions? I seem to be beating my head against a wall here.
