nadjib Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Hello, In upgrading our website, I set up a temporary domain with a new hosting company to build the site. Now that we are ready to launch, I am debating whether to simply point our official domain to our new hosting company or do a full domain transfer of the domain. Our biggest concern is the time it will take for the domain to propagate and if there will be implications on our Google Apps account, namely any disruption to email service. Appreciate any advice or input from experience you have. Many thanks, Nadjib A.
glennda Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 If it is migrated properly you should be able to do this with zero downtime. 1
nadjib Posted July 15, 2014 Author Posted July 15, 2014 Even when migrating domain from one registrar to another?
glennda Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Even when migrating domain from one registrar to another? Yes - what you normally do is transfer the domain and point to the original name servers - then once it has transferred setup you dns records and then change those records. 1
