HP 2920 stacking

Hi, I have three switches HP 2920, each with own, different configuration and I need to stack them.

My question is which step of configuration sholud I perform to do this? I read some documents in which it is written that I need to enable stacking.

What is next?

Does the ports automatic change in format, for example (in second switch fa0/1 to fa2/0/1, which mean that it is from second switch in stack)?

Please help me.

Are you using the 10gb stacking cables from the back?

Ok - every time I have done this they have automatically stacked themselves - but this was fresh out of the box connectivity.

If you are using the stacking modules and cables, then they will automatically stack as long as you have then connected correctly (1 to 2, 2 to 3, and 1 to 3) and turn them all off and turn them back on in order of 1, 2, 3.

 

Update: one caveat though. If you turned the switches on BEFORE the stacking modules were installed, sticking will be disabled by default and you will have to enable it first
