Sir Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Please can anyone save me from having to re-image?! I have 30 new ssd drive BGN wifi laptops connecting to our new wifi nicely in the library. Now all of a sudden 12 of them are stuck at the interactive logon screen that users have to click OK to continue to logon screen. When you click OK after boot for the first time, it appears as though it is continuing for a couple of seconds and then flashes back to the same screen. Safe mode is fine?! I have even removed the policy from the domain to test and all other machines are not showing this screen now; the laptops however are still getting stuck on it. i know not how to progress here. Any help greatly appreciated as to how others would troubleshoot this. Thanks all!
cooka Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Can you delete the local profiles on one of the laptops, reboot and try logging in again? Either that, or you might have something wrong with your image/drivers? Might also be worth logging in, in safe mode, and then looking at event manager 1
Sir Posted July 3, 2014 Author Posted July 3, 2014 Thanks indeed. After all laptops in the trolley failed I finally got round to trouble shooting today. In the events it had clues in the login ui.exe fault pointing towards bioperfcred.exe. After tweaking the registry to enable uninstall in safe mode, I removed the finger print reader software and all was fixed! Was helped by a similar fault with Dell laptops on a forum which was a loginui issue with fastboot....will thank when on a pc and not this app! Cheers Cooka.
