Hi Folks,

Would anyone be able to give me a heads up on which would be the cheapest and effective method for updating our MSSQL 2008R2 to 2014 either Standard or Enterprise,

Details:

Physical Host = 8 core Intel Xeon E5335 2GHz

Virtual 2008R2 Server = allocated 2 cores, resides on above

Any resellers please PM me with prices please, we do have an EES license but I have been told we would have to pay for this year in full even though it is halfway through and then again beginning of next year.

Arrghhhhh! could shout but as the old chinese proverb states "If a tree falls in a forest, does anyone hear it?"

Thanks for your time folks appreciated :)

We use Software Asset Management | Software Licensing | Infrastructure Solutions | Phoenix Software for most our SM licensing. I'd have thought a straight educational select+ license would be your best bet unless you plan to upgrade to whatever comes after 2014 immediately. Unfortunately I don't have the last price I paid for Standard to hand. Phoenix do have an online education price catalogue, you might find an answer in there.
