gjefferies Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Hi, I am trying to created a Windows 8.1 Enterprise (with update 1) x64 image with SCCM 2012 R2. I run the build and capture task sequence and creates a sysprep'ed base Windows 8.1 wim file. When I deploy this, it runs through the task sequence fine, but when I log in the start screen and programs are blank. Any one seen this? What am I doing wrong? I have created a Windows 7 image using the same process and it works great. Thanks Gareth
william_tropico Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Do you have roaming profiles? We had an issue where staff would log into Windows 8 machines where the profile linked to their AD account was created in Windows 7. This caused errors when logging in as well as no access.
gjefferies Posted June 12, 2014 Author Posted June 12, 2014 Yeah I thought it could be Group Policy, Folder redirection etc, but it does it to local users as well... Deployed a task sequence using the install.wim from the DVD and I don't have the issue... works! Strange one? Cheers Gareth
SYNACK Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Do you have any programs installing as part of the build. WorldWide Telescope for instance kills a W8.1 install if it is deployed via msi to the image.
gjefferies Posted June 12, 2014 Author Posted June 12, 2014 Nope I just did a build and capture task sequence. Thanks Gareth
