Tribal_Tiger Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Hi, I've been asked to investigate getting a tablet for each of our students. I've not been given any more info apart from that! There have been no decisions made on the make, model or O/S of tablet. I think I'm pretty much set with the network and infrastructure side of things. We are running a vanilla Windows network, We have just rolled out Office 365, and as of last week we now have a new Wi-Fi system that should have more than enough capacity for what we are planning to throw at it. Our web filtering is done through a Lightspeed Rocket. So what I'm really after is chatting with anyone who has gone down the device per student route, what devices you went for, any problems you ran into, how you manage them. Not too much really! Any help or advice on what to look out for or avoid would be fantastic. Cheers
Neil-Millgate Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Hi @Tribal_Tiger I can get you some contact details for school that we have helped with 1:1 rollouts across ipad/android/windows tablets. They would be happy to speak to you about the problems they had and what route they took. Drop me a pm with your contact details and I will get onto it for you. Thanks Neil 1
Cablers_JonPaul Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 We have helped quite a few schools in the south east with BYOD and 1:1 deployments and i will be happy to see if those network managers will have a chat with you Tribal Tiger. If you drop me some contact details in a PM i will pass them round to schools that have done it.
edublogger Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Hi Tribal Tiger, You might find this information useful if you're looking at deploying iPads. Karl 1
