Love that it has a dive centre, makes life easier.

If you're not been before - tip - the seaplane will charge you excess weight on your luggage, especially hand luggage, so keep dollars handy, and pack light.

You don't need shoes, most islands are bare foot everywhere, just some trainers for any sport.

Thanks buddy that's good advice. I'm going to make the most of my PADI while there. Couple of quick questions then: what currency to take? What electric sockets do they have?

Dollars are favoured.

You shouldn't need any apart from for tips, and "gifts" at end.

Usually, you put all on account and settle with your card at the end. Check with the island as some don't like to accept cash, so you might need a good card with decent forex - Halifax do the best but you're late to get one now.

Sockets should be UK - but again it's island specific so check with them, also the local generator may be flaky at times, so worth having a power smoother.

Best bet is to take a global SKROSS adapter, and optionally a surge socket. As a true geek, you'll be taking a 4-gang extension lead anyway which may well have surge protection

You should get to see whale sharks and turtles and mantas and shark suckers - oh joy

So is that US dollars? Yer I got a multi charger thing although only taking the phone I am having an anti geek week No laptop just phone for taking pictures and kindle for reading. Got a cool waterproof pouch for the phone for diving too this week! Lol

Serious question, why do people go away on holiday to somewhere sunny when it's sunny here, why not when it's raining, or are you doing the rain dance at the airport?

The irony is it might be raining there when I go! It's the place as much as the weather as well as getting away. Shutting everything down for a week and doing nothing!

I go to places where it's not as sunny, like somewhere you can keep your eyes open outside without them steaming.
