Give an indie game developer a leg-up

Following my request here: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/gaming/134369-best-pc-shoot-em-up-2.html for a nice Gradius style shoot-em-up I took the plunge and spent a whole £1.99 for what has proved to be a most enjoyable blast with Power Up.

The only issue I had is that it used a 'Steam-a-like' distribution system called Desura which proved to a complete pain to sign up for and you then have another piece of software runnign in the background!

 

A few weeks later I found myself at Play Blackpool, a gaming Expo, and who should be there but Psychotic Psoftware and had a great, but all to brief, chat with Mike Hanson the one man show behind the company. I explained the Desura problem and he told me that he is trying to get Power Up onto Steam, but needs votes.

So, utilising the awesome power of EduGeek, and if you have a spare few seconds, if you could click the 'Yes' vote on Steam here: Steam Greenlight :: Power-Up it would help him out greatly

Oh, and if you have a spare £1.99 I can highly recommend it

I backed a game called "Frontiers" late last year.

 

We get regular updates from the dev, it's all very interesting. Made it through Steams Greenlight recently too.

He has also just successfully funded another game on Kickstarter (for £5 I'm getting a Steam copy, a DRM-free copy and my name in the credits! ), Flix the Flea - it's a take on a short-lived genre of Commodore/Amiga games, "physics platformer" maybe? Those who have played them will instantly get it:

Also, just spotted Power Up on Humble Store for 99p, so now you can support an indie dev and a worthy charity foe less than the price of a can of Red Bull

That's a remake of Bugaboo the Flea! That was an awesome game

I did for Power Up - already had for Flix but TBH I assumed he already had Power Up on Steam!
