simpsonj Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 We're an school in Oxfordshire looking to replace our LEA for our SIMS support. Whilst the person at county is excellent, she's extremely busy supporting the entire county, and so we're looking elsewhere. I've contacted two separate people at Capita last week about getting a quote, and neither have got back to me, which doesn't instill a sense of confidence in using them for support. However I would be interested to hear people's opinions of Capita's SIMS support team, or anyone else they use for their SIMS support. Thanks,

Chuckster Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Look at getting support from these guys - https://www.smis.org.uk/web/ They're pretty awesome at what they do and offer instant help right away when you give them a call. 1
simpsonj Posted March 11, 2014 Author Posted March 11, 2014 Essentially, yes. There are other people on the support desk, but only one who knows SIMS in depth enough to help our Data manager. The other people have moved on as the County budget has been reduced year on year.
simpsonj Posted March 11, 2014 Author Posted March 11, 2014 @Chuckster looks good, I'll get in contact and see what they can do!
synaesthesia Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 As much as I loath complimenting Capita, there are plenty of good people on the helpdesks there and they are, after all, the best go-to people for supporting their own products. I've always had a good experience however I tend to go directly to our local capita support branch (Northampton) - the guys there are spot on at either resolving issues immediately or finding someone that can.
simpsonj Posted March 11, 2014 Author Posted March 11, 2014 Just to give Capita their due, they've got in contact with a quote, and their support service sounds pretty good. Waiting to here back from SMIS. Thanks to everyone who replied and PM'ed, really helpful!
